Southern Dandenongs Landcare Group Inc. (SDLG)
Who we are
The Southern Dandenongs Landcare Group was founded in August 2007 with the aim to protect and preserve the remnant vegetation of the southern section of the Dandenong Ranges, particularly the water catchments which are home to our locally threatened platypus population
Our mission is to engage and educate local residents in how to care for their increasingly threatened local bushland areas and the very special creatures dependent on them in an effort to enrich local community life and preserve our natural heritage for posterity. Another of our aims is to create natural resource management employment opportunities locally. All of our activities and events are family friendly with children warmly welcomed. We are a Child Safe organisation.
The group covers areas from Belgrave South and Heights, Belgrave, Selby, Lysterfield, Upper Ferntree Gully, Tecoma to Kallista. We share an eastern boundary with Johns Hill Landcare Group which covers Menzies Creek, Clematis and Emerald.
